During the test, marines assessed the system’s capabilities to provide interoperability between simulators and two air stations.
The ADVTE is a system of local and wide-area networks which will integrate the marine aviation simulators located at marine corps aviation training system sites in the continental US.
Naval Air Systems Command (PMA-205) programme manager Captain John Feeney said the 2011 marine corps aviation plan aimed to develop a system of tactically relevant networked trainers.
“ADVTE will help achieve that goal. In addition, it will free up marine corps aircraft for operations while shifting more training to simulators to augment combat mission readiness,” he added.
