The US Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) will receive two cutting-edge SLD 500 counter-sniper systems from CILAS to protect US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The order was placed in December 2008, after which several trial campaigns in various weather and distance conditions were conducted to ensure that the technology was combat ready.

The CILAS SLD 500, which can be connected to external sensors, indicates the GPS position and threat location, and provides real-time information enabling a rapid adapted response.

The system can be coupled to external sensors such as acoustic detectors, thermal cameras and movement sensors depending on the needs.

The system has been combat proven for more than a decade.
