The US Navy has awarded a contract to integrated systems solutions provider Sypris Electronics to provide Model 101e data recording systems.

The navy uses recording devices as training tools to improve air traffic control operations for ship and shore-based facilities, and to enhance the readiness of the crew and commanders of the ship.

The model 101e data recording systems are the only mobile form factor record-and-reproduce systems capable of handling magnetic recording tapes.

Under the three-year contract with a ceiling of $10.5m if all options are exercised, the company will supply the systems to support the navy’s anti-submarine warfare analysis system as part of the tactical mobile acoustic support systems.
