Astrium Services has been awarded a contract by the F125 ARGE, a joint-venture of Thyssen-Krupp and Lürssen, to deliver satellite communication systems to the German Navy’s four new F125 Class frigates.

The SCOT 6 system is latest generation in the SCOT family of naval terminals and is capable of operations at SHF (X-band) with dual X-Ku-band growth options.

Astrium’s secure satcom systems division will provide the F125 with high bandwidth communications over Germany’s forthcoming SATCOM BW2 and other allied networks, according to webnewswire.com.
