During its service, the hunter-killer submarine operated in every time zone and in every ocean, and transited all major waterways, including the Suez and Panama Canals and the Malacca Straits.
The submarine could accommodate a crew complement of around 130 personnel and can cruise at a maximum speed of 32kt.
Armaments on the nuclear-powered submarine included five missile tubes capable of firing Spearfish torpedoes and Tomahawk missiles.
