Under the contract, which is worth over $6m, the company will supply M-PACT airborne compression and dehydration technologies.
M-PACT is specifically designed to provide a continuous flow of pure, dry air for the cooling of infrared missiles, thereby contributing to effective missile launch.
In addition, M-PACT reduces fouling or freezing of the infrared seeker, which increases missile efficiency and combat readiness.
The technology replaces the current nitrogen receiver assembly and is installed in either the LAU-7 or LAU-127 missile launcher on the navy’s F/A-18A/F Super Hornet aircraft.
Marotta is working in collaboration with Boeing to integrate its M-PACT system into the P-8A Poseidon Navy reconnaissance aircraft.
