The US Navy has awarded a contract to ManTech International to provide engineering and technical support services for the navy’s acoustic test support programmes.

Under the $19.5m contract, the company will provide engineering, programmatic and technical support services for the surface ship radiated noise measurement (SSRNM), fleet sonar self noise (FSSN) and other similar programmes.

Technical services provided by ManTech will cover acoustic trial preparation and direction, shipboard localisation of noise sources, post-trial data reduction and analysis, fleet data submittal analysis and report production.

The five-year contract was awarded by the US Navy’s Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport Division.
