The Royal Canadian Navy has selected L-3 MAPPS to supply advanced degaussing systems for its 12 Kingston-Class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels.

Under the contract, the company will deliver the degaussing systems, which reduce the magnetic signature of ships to safe levels, thereby mitigating the threat from sea mines.

The systems will be delivered and supported in collaboration with SAM Electronics.

The company is also implementing the Canadian Halifax-Class Frigates Integrated Platform Management System upgrade contract.
