The agreement follows the signing of a deal for four Gowind 2500 corvettes in July 2014.
DCNS chairman and chief executive officer Hervé Guillou said: "With this historical agreement, DCNS is pursuing a policy of long-term partnership with the Egyptian Navy and its shipyards, with whom we plan to invest in the long-term to develop their skills and industrial facilities.
"In addition, strengthening our relations opens new perspectives for the sale of vessels."
The frigate Normandie is set for delivery later this year after outfitting work and an initial training phase. DCNS will then provide logistics and support services over several years.
With a displacement capacity of 6,000t, the frigate is capable of cruising at maximum speed of 27k and has a range of 15k.
It provides a range of 6,000nm and can accommodate a crew of 108.
The multi-mission frigates are designed to respond to a range of air, marine, submarine and land threats.
