Capable of transporting passengers and equipment, the vessel has a maximum cruising speed of 25nm. The Fars News Agency stated that it can carry 73 passengers and eight crews.
Parmida 1, the first version of the vessel, was built in 2010
Iran launched its first Mowj-class destroyer Jamaran in February 2010. It was deployed in October 2011 to the northern Indian Ocean for anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden.
Jamaran 2, the second guided-missile destroyer, was launched in March 2013 and features advanced navigation systems and indigenously built defensive equipment.
Equipped with a range of anti-ship, surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, in addition to torpedoes, a smart Nour (light) missile and modern naval cannons, the 94m-long vessel has a displacement capacity of 14,000t.
