ORBIT Communication Systems has been awarded a contract by the US Navy to provide maintenance services for the Communication Management Systems (CMS) installed on EA-6B Prowler aircraft.
Under the contract, the company will provide maintenance, repair and support services for the CMS modules including the Audio Intercommunication System (AIS).
ORBIT Communication Systems CEO Israel Adan said: "Effective and timely maintenance is critical for reducing aircraft downtime and increasing sorties."
The highly secure communication management system has been designed to support applications in helicopters and mid-size crew aircraft as well as integrate routing and distribution of audio and data between crew members and recording systems.
The system also includes fully digital and secure systems, which allow the flight crew to select and control all onboard communication devices.
Work on the contract will run through the end of 2012.
