TerraEchos has licensed the US Naval Undersea Warfare Center’s Bayesian Data Reduction Algorithm (BDRA) and foundational patents to improve the real-time signal analysis and classification performance of the Kairos technology platform.
TerraEchos founder and CTO Dr Alex Philp said that the BDRA would assist Kairos solution to better analyse specific data and determine instantly.
Kairos can instantly analyse enormous volumes and varieties of data, while streaming at high-speed from multiple sources.
Important information is filtered and extracted by the Kairos in a real-time workflow in order to meet mission critical defence and intelligence requirements.
"Through Kairos, our goal is to offer our clientele a diverse portfolio of real-time analytical processing capabilities that can be deployed in a variety of applications, workflows and business processes related to managing big data in motion," Philp said.
"What used to be an out-of-process calculation taking minutes is now a real-time process in computer memory, allowing our customers to get the answers they need now, while the intelligence is still meaningful, flowing continuously."
In the last three years, the US Naval Undersea Warfare Center and TerraEchos have jointly tested and evaluated the patented BDRA for use in security applications.
Philp said the unstructured audio data can be analysed using Kairos ‘discovery engine’ streaming at rates of 300mb a second and classify these ‘sounds’ in 1/14th of a second.
"We are privileged to have worked with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center on applying BDRA technology and look forward to building on this technology-sharing relationship in the future," Philp added.
Kairos with BDRA signal classification functionality can also respond to potential cyber and physical threats against critical infrastructure.
